- Discussed possibility of a Memorial Tournament but nothing firm at this time
Social - David Hickey
- Discussed starting Saturday night BBQ. Linda Spiegelman has great ideas and will work with Amy Bollinger. First BBQ is Saturday June 5. We are limited to 50 people. Will need email blast to announce and a signup procedure.
- I will out of town starting May 13 until May 30.
Membership - Terry Quinlan
- 2 new members - 200
- Suggested beginning Wednesday lesson with reduced numbers
- Suggested use of Ball Machine with reduced players
- Larry will follow up with GRF regarding these possibilities
Facilities - Jerry Quinlan
- Theft of Battery powered leaf blower and charger from storage shed. Discussed possibility of alternate sites for storage. Suggested adding power source inside metal storage cabinets that have more secure lock but residents would not be able to access
- We no longer have source for recycling used tennis balls
- Reports GRF has contacted First Serve to meet and get estimate of repairing cracks on courts. Says this will be taken care of this year. Also, possibility of adding total resurface to capital project
Publicity - Amy Bollinger
- will continue to submit "tennis tips" to newspaper until new activities occur.
Information Technology - Chris Slee
- Reports website was down and he is working on problem
Old Business
- Terry reports that Women's Tennis Team project is ongoing.
- BALL league is suspended this year.
- Blum and Wiseman exploring possibility of forming team similar to mens format
New Business
New Court Rules per GRF as of 4/15/21. Larry will follow up with GRF regarding 2 hr. for doubles and rotation of players on courts
Rules for Buckeye Tennis Effective 4/15/2021
1. Buckeye Tennis Courts are for Rossmoor Residents only.
2. Must adhere to social distancing of 6’ at all times.
3. Doubles play is permitted.
4. Masks must be worn at all times except while playing singles. Masks are strongly recommended while playing doubles.
5. If sick or exposed to Covid-19, stay home.
6. Use Hand sanitzer stations and/or wash hands for 20 seconds frequently.
7. Limit to 60 minutes for singles match and 90 minutes for doubles match when people are waiting.
8. Those waiting for court time must sit a minimum of 6’ apart, only one person per bench.
9. No gatherings before or after matches.
10. Group instruction is permitted with masks and social distancing of 6.0’.
11. Tournament and league play is permitted between Rossmoor Residents only. No outside teams or guests.
12. No handshakes or contact.
13. BBQ area will remain closed.
