Chop Suey
Jun 13, 2015

On a beautiful, sunny day it was fun and excitement as >>>

Fun and excitement was the order of the day as twenty Rossmoor Tennis club members joined together to play the Chop Suey Tournament.

Playing some of her best tennis Anna George fought her way through some very tough opponents with well placed forehands and laser beam overheads to win the women's group with 24 points. Coming in second with 19 points Barbara Blum was a model of consistency as she proved to be a brick wall against the powerful shots that the opposition blasted at her. Trudie Anderson finished in  third with 17 points displaying poise and finesse at the net.

Leading the way on the men's side, Randy Kuhl benefited greatly by having all three of the above mentioned ladies as his partners. When the dust cleared, he totaled 23 points. Lenny Cook, who joined the festivities at the last moment when a participant was injured, blasted his way into second place with slice forehands and well placed serves gaining him 19 points. With 17 points Dave Kern finished in third place. His booming overheads and consistent play made him a tough opponent.

Tennis board member Rolf Kvalvik, hosting his first tournament as a club member, provided breakfast and played in some very tough matches. Well done, rookie!
