RTC General Meeting  --- March 19, 2018 --- Minutes

President - Bernie Wolf

• Bernie provided an update on the Ball Machine Clinic.   This ongoing event has been very well received.   Many thanks to Sherry Endicott, Bernie Wolf, Ron Wyman, Chris Slee and others for their management and supervision of this event.
• Player requests for gate repairs were noted
• Mike Ying reminded us of the RTC apparel signup purchase procedure
  
  

Vice President - Carol Pillsbury

• Carol reminded all that a "Lost and Found" cabinet under the sink at the Buckeye picnic area has some stuff to be retrieved
  
  

Secretary - Les Hoskyns

• Les and Chris prepared the 2018 Membership Directory in booklet form in response to several requests
• Bernie devised a plan to distribute booklets manually instead of mailing to save postage expense
  
  

Treasurer - Barbara Schwartz

• Barbara presented the RTC updated budget in a new and improved format
  
  

Tournaments - Chris Slee - Away

• Bernie and others reviewed past and upcoming tournament activity
  
  

Social - Marian "Cinnamon" Renvall - Away

• Carol provided an update on the upcoming Kentucky Derby event.   This event will be co-sponsored with the 30s, 40s, 50s Club and the Rossmoor Equestrians.   The event will be catered and will feature Mint Juleps.
  
  

Membership - Larry Fredricks

• Larry reminded us of the availability of a new paperless RTC Membership Application
• Membership is currently at 202 members with 38 ball machine participants
  
  

Facilities - Bill Van Wagoner

• Bill has placed two nice 'reminder' signs at the Buckeye kiosk
• Bill reminded us all of the importance recording our court usage.   This even applies to Open Tennis and to periods where there appears to be no conflicts during afternoon, evening, and weekend play.
• Les and Bill will permanently affix the Rubbermaid storage locker on Court 1
  
  

Publicity - Dave Blanchard

• Dave and Les have worked to bring the 2018 Event History portion of the website up to date.
• Dave is getting material into the Rossmoor News on a regular basis.
• Dave will begin to collect more diverse photographic content for the 2018 Event History portion of the website; fewer player lineups at the net and more action shots are what Dave has in mind.
  
  

RTC Information Technology - Chris Slee - Away

• Les reviewed several of Chris's completed and contemplated aspects of website development
• Les went into considerable detail to explain the technological challenges Chris faces in evolving the website from a static model to an interactive model.
