RTC Board Meeting
December 15, 2014 --- Meeting Minutes:

President Mark Patterson called the meeting of the Rossmoor Tennis Club to order at 1:30PM on Monday December 15,  2014 in the Ivy Room at the Stanley Dollar Club House.

Present:  Mark Patterson, Dick Normington, Randy Kuhl, Dave Kern, Barbara Schwartz,  Loc Barnes, Bill Sederowitz, Joyce Niebur, Ron Wyman  and Susanne Eldridge.   Absent: Barbara Phillips.

President:  Mark Patterson asked for the minutes of November Annual General  Board Meeting to be approved and they were.   Les Hoskyns has requested photos and a short bio from each of the present board members to be added to the website.   Pictures from events, social and tournaments, should be forwarded to Bill Sederowitz so he can add to the website.    Ron Wyman advised that the Rossmoor News would like more pictures submitted with his articles so that Rossmoor News can pick and choose what they will publish.

Treasurer:  Barbara Schwartz reported that the club is financially strong with a checkbook balance of $10,924.82 as of December 15, 2014, that includes payment of $1,628.10 for the new shed.   We are still expecting the statement  for the cement slab that was poured for the shed.    The board approved a donation of $200.00 each to the Friends of Hospice and the Rossmoor Fund.   There will be a budget meeting at the end of December.

Vice President:  Dick Normington  reported that the Rule 10.16 changes have been approved by GRF Board and we will obtain a copy of the Rule 106.l to add to the website and to ask GRF to have a sign made for the Tennis Center at Buckeye.

Court Engineer/Supplies:  Bill Sederowitz reported that the drainage work on Court 5 worked well during the recent heavy rains.   The shed by court 2 has been installed but still needs to be anchored to the slab, as well as painting.    Shelving needs to  be installed in the shed as well.    There will be 2 keys for the shed, no combination lock.    Many of the clocks at Buckeye have stopped working, they are actually indoor clocks, we need to look into replacing them.

Tournaments:  Rolf Kvalvik will be the new Tournament Director as of January 2015, Randy Kuhl will co chair to start.

Round Hill Interclub tournaments will be on March 21, at Rossmoor and Ron Wyman will be the captain.   Rossmoor will visit Round Hill on Sunday July 21, 2015 with Randy Kuhl as the captain.   The Interclub tournament with Trilogy in Rio Vista will continue at least for 2015.

Secretary:  Susanne Eldridge nothing to report.

Vice President/Trophies Report:  Dick Normington has ordered the new trophy plaques and they will be available first of the year 2015.

The Service award plaques are ready for presentation at the Holiday Party.

Publicity:   Dave Kern’s term will be up as of 12/31/14. The President thanked Dave for his excellent service as Publicity Chairman. Ron Wyman will assume the Publicity Chairman as of January 2015. He has already acted in the position since end of October.

Facilities and Maintenance:  Jerry McConnell absent

Sunshine:  Nancy McConnell absent.

Social:  Loc Barnes reported on the Holiday party, everything is in order and it will be the best party ever.

Membership and Reservations:  Joyce Niebur advised that 211 membership renewals have been received.   The 2015 directory will be published in January after copy proofed at the January board meeting.   One copy per membership, extra copies will be available at $5.00 each.   121 reservations have been received for the Holiday Party on December 20th, 2014.

New Business:  Liquor at parties:  Following the spirited (pun intended) discussion at the November General Meeting, a subcommittee is being formed to review the guidelines and present back to the board.

The next Board Meeting will be held 1:30 PM on Monday, January 19, 2015 at the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:00PM.
