RTC Board Meeting
January 19, 2015 --- Meeting Minutes:

President Mark Patterson called the meeting of the Rossmoor Tennis Club to order at 1:30PM on Monday January 19, 2015 in the Ivy Room at the Stanley Dollar Club House.

Present:

Mark Patterson, Randy Kuhl, Barbara Schwartz, Loc Barnes, Bill Sederowitz, Joyce Niebur, Ron Wyman , Barbara Phillips and Susanne Eldridge. Guest: Mary Kay McClure. Absent: Rolf Kvalvik.

President:

Mark Patterson asked for the minutes of December Board Meeting to be approved, Randy Kuhl moved and Bill Sederowitz second the movement. The minutes were approved. The RTC website is now entirely maintained by RTC board members and club volunteers. Lots of photos have been added to the different events, so the membership is encouraged to visit the website and enjoy the pictures. We are planning to add pictures of the current board members. The blogs will have tips on various subjects so check them out. A demo of the website will be presented again at the next General Board Meeting in March.

Court Engineer/Supplies:

Cheryl Patterson has put together a list of supplies available for use at interclub matches and RTC tournaments. These supplies are not available for the Summer Saturday BBQ's. We have a lot of items in the Lost and Found Cabinet under the sink area and the membership is encourage to look for their lost items there. After the March General Meeting we will donate items left over in the Lost and Found. GRF has agreed to paint the new shed as soon as they have available staff to do it. The new 'stainless steel' sink has developed rust spots, we will bring this to the attention of GRF. A few new clocks have been installed to replace the ones damaged by recent storms.

Tournaments:

Randy Kuhl advised that he will e-mail the captain of the Round Hill Tennis Club and iron out the details for the upcoming tournament in March. Randy will also get in touch with the Trilogy Tennis Club to see if they are interested/able to field teams this year.

Wild Card:

Barbara Phillips reported that not enough men signed up for the last Wild Card, so some mixed teams had to play against women teams. So you strong and handsome tennis playing men, please sign up and give the women a good competition.

Secretary:

Susanne Eldridge sent a sympathy card to Barbara Anast from the RTC Club. I also noticed that a lot of players that play in the afternoons don't use the sign in sheets. These sheets are turned in to GRF and lack of sign ins could hurt us in the long run.

Treasurer:

Barbara Schwartz shows a checking account balance as of 1/18/15 to be $11,217.52 which includes membership renewals. The budgeted total expenses for the year 2015 is $12,665.00 which includes the purchase of a new ball machine.

Vice President/Trophies Report:

Randy Kuhl reported that the Round Hill Team does not seem to be interested in a travelling trophy/plaque at this time. Randy also requested input on raffle prizes for the General Meetings.

Publicity:

Ron Wyman, our new publicist, encourages the membership to check out the website and view pictures from the events, blogs and articles.

Facilities and Maintenance:

Jerry McConnell absent. The board has been advised that Jerry received a clean bill of health from his heart doctor.

Sunshine:

Nancy McConnell absent. She is recovering slowly from her accident.

Social:

Loc Barnes presented the flyer for the Valentine's Party. The President will e-mail the flyer to the membership.
Mary Kay McClure presented ideas for the Spring Fling. The theme is based on the "I've Got a Secret!" TV show.
The membership is encourage to submit application to be contestants. The committee will choose 4-5 contestants from the applicants.

Membership and Reservations:

Joyce Niebur advised that 236 membership renewals have been received. The 2015 directory will be published in January. An abbreviated directory listing sorted by first names will be included.

Old Business:

The Beverage Subcommittee has been formed, chaired by Paul Holland and they will meet in the week of January 19th.

New Business:

Mark Patterson will contact GRF to resolve the issue with parking tickets issued to golf cart owners that parked under the oak tree, since this is where GRF told us to park.

The next Board Meeting will be held 1:30 PM on Monday, February 16, 2015 at the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:50PM.

Respectfully submitted by:
Susanne Eldridge, RTC Secretary
