RTC Board Meeting
May 18, 2015 --- Meeting Minutes:

Present:

  Mark Patterson, Randy Kuhl, Bill Sederowitz,Rolf Kvalvik, Ron Wyman, Barbara Phillips, Barbara Schwartz, Loc Barnes and Susanne Eldridge

President:

Mark Patterson called the meeting to order at 1:42pm at the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.

• The minutes from April 20th board meeting were approved.
• Anyone is welcome to attend the board meetings, the directory states that it is for board members ONLY and that is not correct, will be rectified in next issue.
• Photos of the board members have been added to the organization page of the website. We are still working on simplifying getting information re social and tournament events on to the website.

Court Engineer/Supplies:

• Bill Sederowitz advised that the screens on Ct 3 have been fixed.
• The membership should remember to close the gates to the court when leaving, this is to keep deer out. 
• The tennis courts are for tennis playing only, no dogs, no private ball machines are allowed.
• The two poles located outside the gate to court 3 can be removed to bring supplies to the social area and for emergencies but are usually locked. A possible solution is to give persons in charge of the tournament and/or the social event the code for the combination locks.  We need to ask GRF if this is permissable.  After the events the poles must be put back in place.  For emergencies GRF said the Securitas has the combination as well, but last time they were called for the combination in a non-emergency situation this wasn't the case.

Tournament Director

Rolf Kvalvik reported on past and future tournaments:

• The New Member Tournament was a rain out.
• Rossmoor prevailed over Trilogy 15 - 9.
• The Memorial Day tournament scheduled for May 23 still need men to sign up.
• Chop Suey Tournament is coming up on June 13.
• The Round Hill Tournament takes place on SUNDAY July 12 at Round Hill.

Wild Card:

Barbara Phillips reported that the Wild Card tournaments are going fine. Next tournament is on June 6th.

Secretary:

Susanne Eldridge  No report.

Treasurer:

• Barbara Schwartz reported that the checking account has a balance of $9,232.16 as of May 17, 2015. 
• The locker at Hillside has been organized and inventoried by Carol Pillsbury.
• Hard liquor needs to be purchased for the July BBQ.

Vice President:

• Randy Kuhl  discussed ways to honor long serving members.
• Randy also reported on the format to be used at Round Hill tournament. 

Publicity:

• Ron Wyman reported that he published 2 articles for Rossmoor News, using airline WI-Fi, while travelling.
• Rossmoor News now requests shorter articles with max 2 photos.

Facilities and Maintenance:

No report

Sunshine:

No report

Social:

• Loc Barnes brought up the Saturday BBQs, which will start on May 23 at the Buckeye Social area. 
• Left over wine from the Valentines party and Spring Fling will be used at the July BBQ party.

Membership and Reservations:

We have 238 members including 7 non-residents.

The next Board Meeting:

Will be held 1:30 PM on Monday June 15, 2015 at the Ivy Room at Stanley Dollar Club House.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:15pm.
