- Approval of last month's board meeting minutes
- Orinda Woods Tournament update (in Chris's absence) - this was a very successful tournament
Vice President - Carol Pillsbury
- New sound system update - a big success
- Court cleaning before matches - discussion regarding requests to GRF to clean courts prior to scheduled events
Secretary - Les Hoskyns
Treasurer - Barbara Schwartz - away
- Treasurer's report - budget documents through September 12th submitted
Tournaments - Chris Slee - away
- Tournaments report - The Villages (here) scheduled for Oct 20; Ron Wyman in charge
- Men's Doubles Tournament has been fully subscribed as of this meeting date
- Chris's new tournament facilitating cards are proving to be helpful
Social - Marian "Cinnamon" Renvall
- Update on Holiday party, RTC subsidy for same - board voted to heavily subsidize this event allowing us to set admission at $42.00 per person. New minimum wage laws have driven up our caterers' fees significantly.
- Update on September 8 Barbecue - (first after-Labor-Day barbecue was a success)
- The Sneakers and Spikes event went smoothly with healthy turnout
- The October 20th New Members cocktail party at the Dollar Complex was briefly discussed
Membership - Larry Fredricks
- Membership report - 223 members with 46 members paying to use the ball machine
Facilities - Bill Van Wagoner
- Signage for barbecue grill was discussed. Recent those who incorrectly fueled the barbecue with charcoal have damaged the burners. Discussion held regarding who should take future preventive measures.
- Bill provided a suggested 'Handicap Scoring' protocol for discussion. No resolution; the protocol may be used in selective future events.
- Bill observed that our tennis clinics are going well

RTC Information Technology Committee - Chris Slee - away
- Information technology report
- Les once again reiterated the need for those planning for or reporting on club events to get the appropriate narrative and photographic information into the appropriate parts of the website. This will assure that those who visit the site will get useful useful and timely information.
Old Business
- Truck parked in Buckeye lot 24/7 over a period of several weeks - apparently RTC board requests taped to the truck over a period of days did the trick. The truck is gone.
New Business
- Nominating Committee - Bernie has established a nominating committee chaired by Ron Wyman to replace three outgoing board members. Ron will be assisted by Pauline Hanley, Bill Sederowitz, Jerry Robinson, and one more (yet to be announced) RTC member.
- The slate of nominees recruited for RTC board membership by this committee will be voted on at our General Meeting held on November 19, 2018 in the Gateway Complex - Fairway Room.
